I know this is not in the Northeast but we send the braille writers to the
following prison. It is around $50.00 to clean/adjust...more if you need
parts....we use to send the writer free matter but we decided that was
risky...so we send them via UPS...there might be a prison closer to you....here
is the contact information:

Subject: [visionrehabtherapist] Braille Writer Repair

Greetings,

I am looking for recommendations in the Northeast for braille repair (or upper
half of the East Coast). I think it probably goes without saying the most cost
effective and timely!
I REALLY appreciate your input!
