A virus identity (IDE) file which provides protection is
available now from the Sophos website, and will be incorporated
into the May 2005 (3.93) release of Sophos Anti-Virus.

Customers using EM Library, PureMessage or any of our Sophos
small business solutions will be automatically protected at
their next scheduled update.

At the time of writing, Sophos has received a small number of
reports of this worm from the wild.


Note: The IDE file issued for W32/Rbot-DP on 13 July at 12:58
GMT also contained detection for W32/Rbot-DQ, Troj/Soromo-A,
Troj/WindFind-C, W32/Rbot-DO, Troj/Small-PB, Troj/BettInet-A,
Troj/Alchemy-A, Troj/Dloader-Y and Troj/PurScan-E . This IDE has
now been updated to enhance detection of Troj/BettInet-A.

Please follow the instructions for removing worms.

You will also need to edit the following registry entries, if they are present. 
Please read the warning about editing the registry. 
At the taskbar, click Start|Run. 
Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens. 
Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. 
On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. 
In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup. 

Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entries: 
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices 
and remove any reference to any file you deleted. 
Each user has a registry area named HKEY_USERS\[code number indicating user]\. 
For each user locate the entry: 
HKU\[code number]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Run\ 
and remove any reference to any file you deleted. 
Close the registry editor.
