From; Sophos Alert System: Name: W32/Rbot-DP Type: Win32 worm Date: 7 April 2005 A virus identity (IDE) file which provides protection is available now from the Sophos website, and will be incorporated into the May 2005 (3.93) release of Sophos Anti-Virus. Customers using EM Library, PureMessage or any of our Sophos small business solutions will be automatically protected at their next scheduled update. At the time of writing, Sophos has received a small number of reports of this worm from the wild. Note: The IDE file issued for W32/Rbot-DP on 13 July at 12:58 GMT also contained detection for W32/Rbot-DQ, Troj/Soromo-A, Troj/WindFind-C, W32/Rbot-DO, Troj/Small-PB, Troj/BettInet-A, Troj/Alchemy-A, Troj/Dloader-Y and Troj/PurScan-E . This IDE has now been updated to enhance detection of Troj/BettInet-A. You will also need to edit the following registry entries, if they are present. Please read the warning about editing the registry. At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens. Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup. Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entries: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices and remove any reference to any file you deleted. Each user has a registry area named HKEY_USERS\[code number indicating user]\. For each user locate the entry: HKU\[code number]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Run\ and remove any reference to any file you deleted. Close the registry editor.
