Floyd. Well at least you've asked, so hopefully you will learn a little. BTW,
it didn't mention specifically with the arrow keys, but the read me does say:
Note: Turning off the "snap active" Control in the view menu and changing the
zoom ratio, will allow the above keystrokes to adjust the range by different
amounts. This is a great way to fine tune any range.
Remember, the read me is to be used in addition to Samplitude's own
documentation, as it's impossible to cover everything.
Anyway, here's your answer.
The zoom ratio controls how much of the time-line we see. So, if you had a 1
bar object and had the zoom ratio at 10 minutes, the chances are you won't see
it, because the time-line has been compressed to show a bigger overview of the
time-line, but if you say had a 20 bar object, you would probably see it. The
scripts bypass this when you press the letter "Z"., making it easier. Think of
the time-line as an accordion. When it's pushed together, it's compressed, so
it could hide things, in this example objects. When it's expanded, it will
reveal those objects, but you will only be able to see those objects as you
progress along the time-line.
This is exactly how a sighted user uses Samplitude. Now, how does this work
with the zoom ratio? When "snap active" is checked in the view menu, using the
left/right arrows won't change, it only changes how compressed or expanded the
time-line is, but if you uncheck "snap active", the arrow keys are no longer
snapping to a set amount, hence how you can move by different amounts,
depending on what zoom ratio you have.
So, turn off "snap active" and you should find the arrow keys move you by very
small amounts when set to 1 second, and greater amounts when set to 10 minutes,
but the maximum will probably only be 1 bar.

Hi guys,
I've been using Samplitude for quite awhile now but I have to admit I do not
understand how it works.
Sorry.
I simply want to be in hours minutes seconds. And I am.
However, if I am supposed to be able to change how much left/right arrows move
when pressing alt shift f1, f2, f3 and f4, that does not happen. Each arrow
press remains the same amount of time no matter which is pressed.
If this is clear in the read me, I don't find it there.
I've been the the snap options but I really don't get the relationship.
So if I want to move by one millisecond and then change to a longer amount, how
do I do that?
