Kevin. You don’t type in 127 as it won't take that value. You type in 12.
That's just how it works. 12 is the maximum audio volume you can run on an
audio track by default E.G. if you push up a fader on a control surface then it
will go to plus 12. You can get it to go further than that though on an audio
track by typing in values by hand however this does not apply if you have CC7
active. Also, 12 is what you have to type in once you have changed the volume
from audio to CC7 in order to get a MIDI track set to 127 as that's just how it
works in Samplitude.

Just did what you said RE checking control MIDi volume CC7 and unchecking No
MIDi Volume CC7 Change. Still no effect. Also clicked Alt L twice and typed
in 127 and still no effect. I am confident I’m on the correct track/channel
because I checked with CTRL, Windows ENTER.

that Alt Shift L yielded the Load menu. Used that to choose an instrument
and discovered that monitoring works on some channels but not others. Not
sure what’s not set correctly in some cases. And not others. Also, still
don’t know why Independence doesn’t respond to CC7.

Phil,
Good news, bad news. I followed your instructions and I appear to have
gotten half way there. Independence was not imported. So, I chose import
a Hotspot Set and selected Independence from the list that appeared.
However, even after closing and reopening Pro X3 Suite and reloading the
project, even though Independence was shown as the active hotspot set,
tabbing and shift tabbing yielded silence. So, I’m confused. Now it may be
that my Independence is not in the same place that it is in other
installations. Steve and I did have to go through some considerable
gymnastics to get things running due to the Vienna thing. Anyway, I am
moderately confused.
Also, as I may have mentioned in another e-mail, Independence is not
responsive to my MIDi volume pedal. NO idea why that should be.
Best,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
You should have the Independance HSC, essentially there are two folders
in your JAWS version 'personalised settings' folder.
One of these is 'Samplitude' the other is 'Samplitude VST's', you should
find the Independance HSC in the latter.
I wonder if your HSC isn't set to automatic title switching, might be
worth just checking that whilst on the main screen, only the
'Samplitude' HSC will be loaded, do Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F1 twice to invoke
the HSC menu, arrow down to ensure that auto set switching is enabled.
In your previous post you didn't mention the 'VST options' dialog which
is what lead me to suspect that dialog had been hidden, but I think I'm
right in saying that at this point, the HSC set should switch from the
default Samplitude HSC, over to the Independance HSC which is in that
second folder, which maybe it wasn't doing if 'auto switching' wasn't
enabled.
Once Independance has loaded, you could try the HSC mods + F1 twice
again, to check that it has switched to the second HSC folder containg
the Independance set.

Chris

Just one thing, at point number 3, you should get the VST dialog menu
that asks if you want various options, like midi and audio on the same
track, or create multiple track outputs for Independance etc - it could
be that inadvertantly the 'don't show this dialog again' box got checked
and you are going straight to the Independance plugin which could
possibly be throwing the focus out.
There is an option in settings somewhere that un-does the 'don't show
again' options.

Guys,
Thrilling news to share. Got on the horn with VSL and everything seems
to work now. It could be that my contracting the VST Scan caused
Independence Pro to show up. What happens is this:
1. Open the test project with which Steve and I were working yesterday.
2. On a blank track, press CTRL Windows Accent.
3. Choose Magix and then right arrow to Independence Pro.
4. Here’s where things get a little tricky. Hitting ENTER brings up
a plugin screen and I have to hit Brouse with the mouse by hand to get
to the screen where I have to also click the mouse by hand two
different ways before I get to the menu from where I can choose
instruments. I’m sure there’s a series of key commands I’m
missing.
For the record, Speech has just cut out on this Mac as I’m typing.
So, if this letter sounds grabbed, I apologize.
The point is, we are making great progress. I’ll be in touch with
all of you later to ask more questions. Still haven’t gotten Ivory
to show up in any scan.
One thing at a time.

Samplitude so you will have to change screen res between programs or
use
JSonar in Sonar instead of CT as JSonar doesn't care about screen

By way of further clarification, Pressing Windows, CTRL, Accent does
cause
JAWS to say, Effects menu. But nothing opens on screen. I know this
be3cause, while I am vision impaired, I can se the screen. To
continue,
pressing ENTER, or any arrow, does not open the Effects Menu.
Further, When
I navigate to the Effect menu by pressing the File menu and right

a VST

matter.

The hotspot ring problem is probably easily fixed by Steve or
Tim or
Phil. Before that happens though, check to see your screen
resolution
is set to at least 1280 by 768 and you're using the Windows 7
Classic
screen theme.
When you find stuff in the Recycle Bin, use the File menu
restore
option to put it back. It knows from whence it came. That may
help in
the above problem.
If you really want to roll back to the state where your

when you first unpacked it, you'll definitely need sighted
assistance
due to the particular software Jim uses to make these backups.
One
thing I do wish he'd do is to at least provide that software
on the
machine which can be written to some bootable medium, then run
to do
the restore.
