A further clarification. Independence Pro does show as being installed under
the Help menu. I just can’t find it in my available options for instruments to
choose when making a project. Also, when starting a new project, the only way
I can find the larger list of project templates is to click my mouse by hand.
No keystroke seems to bring it up.

The hotspot ring problem is probably easily fixed by Steve or Tim or
Phil. Before that happens though, check to see your screen resolution
is set to at least 1280 by 768 and you're using the Windows 7 Classic
screen theme.
When you find stuff in the Recycle Bin, use the File menu restore
option to put it back. It knows from whence it came. That may help in
the above problem.
If you really want to roll back to the state where your computer was
when you first unpacked it, you'll definitely need sighted assistance
due to the particular software Jim uses to make these backups. One
thing I do wish he'd do is to at least provide that software on the
machine which can be written to some bootable medium, then run to do
the restore.

I was having a problem with Samplitude Pro X3 Suite. Some things seemed to
be responding correctly while some were not. My version of Pro X2 seemed to
be responding correctly. But Pro X3 Suite kept telling me that I was not in
the VIP window at various times. Both programs yielded the correct response
when JAWS Q was pressed. So, I figured the scripts were present in both
cases. I figured that, somehow, the .INZ file had disappeared. So, I

Here’s where the heartbreak occurred. Steve Matzura, please restrain
yourself as you read. I went to grab the .INZ from a subfolder within a
main folder called something like _drivers and Updates. This directory came
with my new computer and contained all the subfolders filled with the stuff
that Jim installed on the computer on my behalf. This would include
Samplitude Access. But it would also include the installers for Samplitude
2 and 3, JAWS, SONAR, Sibelius and God knows what else. I was trying to
navigate to the .INZ file so I could reimport it when I apparently deleted
the entire fucking directory from within Samplitude.
Now, I was about to talk about the inaccessible backup Jim Rosebarry
delivered with the computer and ask you guys how I might go about recovering
this directory. That is, until I discovered that this directory, all 32GB
of it, actually was in my Recycle Bin. Imagine my relief. I have now
copied it to a second drive and restored it to its place on the C drive.
But that doesn’t explain how the F I deleted the whole thing in the first
place. And it doesn’t explain why I wasgetting error messages like such and
such position on the hotspot ring has encountered a problem. Color not
found. WTF, Gents.
For those of you who celebrate such things, happy thanks giving. And for
those of you who don’t, you’re better off.
