Hello Susan, I found another tutorial on defragging by Paul Traynor. please find below. BertI wonder if anyone has recently defragmented their hard drive. Below I have written up some instructions for doing this process.
How to defrag your computers hard drive: 1. Close all applications and go to the desktop. 2. Press keys, "windows + letter E"Note: A list of the drives of your computer should come up within a few seconds.
3. Press the down arrow till you hear "local drive C". 4. Now press keys, "alt + enter" to open up that drives properties. Note: The first page to come up will be "general".5. Press control + Tab" to jump to the tools page. Tab once and press spacebar on the defrag button.
Note: Wait a few seconds.6. Now press tab key twice to another defrag button and press spacebar. This starts the defrag process on the hard drive.
Note: If you aren't sure if the defrag process is finished then just tab around and if you come to a pause button then you'll know its still working. Allow it to finish by itself.
