Hi Susan not Bert but hope I will do instead *smile*!!! The difference in Vodafone Standard and Talks Premium is that there are some additional functions that Talks Premium will do for you. Let me give you some examples and others can chip in if they have more to add. You do not get Zooms with Talks Standard. This is a magnification program and beneficial to partially sighted people. Another function is that of Braille. I have a Braille Display and can use this with Talks Premium but not with the Standard Talks. Other than that the labelling of various icons is not possible for example, there is no object viewer in the Talks Standard. However, cutting a long story short, Talks Standard is just fine, Vodafone put it on free of charge and it should actually meet your needs. However, the Talks Premium gives you those additional functions mentioned. It was last £150 for the Premium version but I do not know if this price has been increased. Once you have Talks Standard, however, you can pay an additional £50 to have Talks upgraded to the premium version. However, I would ask you to ask yourself if you really need this upgrade. If you do, then you may be able to do this on-line yourself or if you are like me then you will not do it yourself but will ask a Talks dealer to do it for you. There are many Talks dealers, Barbra Wilson is one person in Northern Ireland and of course for Southern Ireland there is NCBI. Either of these will do or someone else either, Neil Barnfather at Talknav or Steve Nutt at Computer Room Services both in UK. Hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Curry" <SusanCurry@xxxxxxx>

Hello Susan,

there are two types of Talks software, one is standard which you seem to have and the other is premium 5.01.1.

did you get talks already installed on your phone when you purchased it?

hi albert,

thanks for that, the strange thing is that when we go in to the phone and go to about to get the version of talks, my husbands says talks and zooms premium 5.01.1, but mine only says talks 5.01.1, why do you think this is?
