Christina,
The formula to count filtered rows and ignore hidden ones is
Subtotal(103,Column_range)
The number 103 uses THE COUNTA function and ignores hidden rows of data. If
you place this formula somewhere on your worksheet that will never be hidden
and set the column_range to call on the whole column, you should get a count
of the filtered rows only no matter which group you are looking at.
For example place the formula in c1 and type =subtotal(103, b:b) you should
get a count of every cell that is visible in column B on the worksheet.
All the best,
Cearbhall

Subject: [vip_students] Re: excel question
Hi Cearbhall,
Of course, sorry.
So, i have a list of requests which are made to different divisions -
culture, heritage, gaeltacht etc. - and I need to count how many were made to
each devision. So when I filter by devision (because everything is on one
excel sheet), I want to be able to quickly count the number of cells with
information in them.
Does that help?

Subject: [vip_students] excel question
Hi all,
Hope everyone is as well as possible in these odd times.
I'm wondering if it's possible to count the number of cells with text
in them in a list that has been filtered.
Is there a way to do this with JAWS?
Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
