It was of course Flor The Qube that I indeed meant. Going back in time am I instead of forwardd, :)I intend learning more of Hashtags and perhaps may be in a position to post my progress here soon.
Think that you can hashtag almost anything you like?I learnt that you must first create a tweet before doing the #2014 for example.
Perhaps we may see a mini-tutorial from Paul T or other on these matters. Best for the year, Tony Sweeney----- Original Message ----- From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx>

Hi Ayoola, There's an updated version of Qwitter (mentioned by Tony in another message) called TheQube - that's Qube (with a q). It's available from www.quartzprojectsz.co.uk >, and it enables you to follow friends and track them, as well as track your followers. it is a GUI-less app, and is operated by the Windows and ctrl keys in combination with arrow and cursor keys, and some times with the shift and the alt key. You begin a new tweet in it with ctrl+Windows+n, and type your 140-or-less characters. Then press ENTER to SEND. Retweeting and replying/mentioning are also provided for. There is also a friendly "Keystroke manager" - got by pressing ctrl+Win+k - which gives you a list of the keystrokes and describes their functions. TheQube is a computer Twitter client. The ReadMe file is good, being largely based on that of the now-moribund Qwitter client. What I like about Twitter is that you don't have to say any more than you want or have to! And you can unfollow people you may decide aren't worth following. 'People' can also mean organisations and/or groups. many newspeople and journalists/reporters use Twitter.----- Original Message ----- From: "Ayoola Stephen Efunkoya" <ayokoya2009@xxxxxxxxx>To: "vip_students" <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 03, 2014 1:03 AM Subject: [vip_students] (VIP_Students understandIng and Using Twitter better Hello and happy new year all, You might have become tired of facebook in the last 12 months if you are like me who takes time to craft what I consider a well-thought-out post only not to get any comment and maybe one or two likes from a friend list of about 700 facebook users. I was discussing my frustration with a very close friend (both in real life and on facebook) and she suggested twitter as a better platform for me to be heard and improve my reputation. Now, the thing is, I’m not new to twitter; I’ve used the standard twitter web site both on my PC and on my Symbian phone for about four years. I’ve even used twitter through EasyChirp – easychirp.com and easychirp.org – as well as Tweetcaster and Tweetings for Twitter – both apps on android. But then, I know there’s much more beyond composing 140-character tweets. You must be able to and be ready to follow treads to your tweets, reply publicly and sometimes privately, among other things. How can a person who is totally blind be effective in all of these and even more required to be a success on twitter? I will be glad to know of your recommendations of ways to improve my understanding and use of twitter – including learning from web sites, books and other sources. Thank you. -- Regards Ayoola Stephen Efunkoya Communications Professional, Broadcast journalist and Accessible Technology Enthusiast/Trainer M.A candidate Department of Communication and Language Arts University of Ibadan Ibadan, Nigeria MOBILE: +234-802-944-9441; +234-809-964-9514 e-Mail: ayokoya2009@xxxxxxxxx SKYPE: ayoola.stephen.efunkoya Check out my profile and connect with me: Ayoola Stephen Efunkoya on LinkedIn <http://ng.linkedin.com/in/ayokoya> AyoKoya on Twitter <http://twitter.com/ayokoya> Ayoola Stephen Efunkoya on Facebook <http://facebook.com/ayokoya> ==================== The vip_students mailing list Manage account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/vip_students Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/vip_students Administrative contact: support@xxxxxxx ==================== =========================================================== The vip_students mailing list Manage account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/vip_students Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/vip_students Administrative contact: support@xxxxxxx ===========================================================
