Paul,
Thanks for reply and by the sounds of it far too complicated for a
beginner, and the cost would also be a factor. Have a feeling that
Guide would suit better.

Hi Noreen,

Well the person will still require jaws running on his or her machine if
he or she is blind. So here we have jaws + dragon dictate running in
combination. For this combination to work you need a third party
software called "JSay" from a company called "TandT consulting" over in
the UK. I think the web address is "www.tandtconsulting.com" Also
remember for all these programs to run successfully on the user's
computer they will require a high spec machine best would be a duel core
processor with 2 GB memory or more if possible. Remember we are only
talking here about the access software and we still have to consider the
fact that the user will be running Microsoft Word etc. This is a big
outfit, thought and financial cost will be critical factors for this but
once up and running and the use is thought how to use it then I think it
would be a nice system to have.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
Just wondering if anyone on the list has any experience of Drag &
Dictate? Is it an option for a person that has lost sight and is
looking for an easy way to access a computer? As far as I know this
person has never used a computer. I understand this programme is very
reasonable compared to Jaws. All advice welcome as I don't want to give
the wrong information. Noreen M.
