Hi Joan Ann, Grade three braille was/is an advanced (or 'shorthand braille') code developed largely in America in the early 1930's. the British braille shorthand system is a bit different, being largely based on sighted or typists' shorthand. Not many people in the States have learned Grade Three, and it never became formally established. Now I must go look at that blindcooltech site again soon, for that tutorial info and other recent updates. - Flor. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joan Ann Brosnan" <kerrygirl18@xxxxxxxxx> To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 26, 2008 12:53 PM Subject: [vicsireland] grade 3 braille Hi all Apologies if this is slightly off topic. I was having a look on the website http://www.blindcooltech.com/ and, I came across a tutorial for grade 3 braille and, I was just wondering, what the differences are between grade 2 and grade 3 braille and, if it is widely used? Joan Ann.
