I rarely make payments online, but when I do I use Paypal if it’s an option and
I appreciate the convenience. But I must add one thing: yesterday I received a
mail from them asking me to check and confirm the phone number I gave them when
I joined: it looks as if they will shortly be introducing a text challenge
system for each transaction and therefore need the client’s phone number to
send the one-time code number to us. All in the name of SCA (strong customer
identification).

Hi,
Since PayPal does the necessary emailing advising the other party of remittance
or whatever after you’ve paid into the other party’s account, I’m wondering if
it’s ok to use it (or a similar service if available) instead of going through
the rigmarole of paying from my own Bank into that of the other party -
including inputting the 7-digit code, which may not be required by PayPal? Does
anyone know?
