Hi all,
I received an email about this list from another list I’m on, and thought I’d
join.

It seems this list is all about helping people etc, so I’ll tell you what I
know (won’t take long), and take the opportunity to textually shake everyone’s
hand.

Some of you may know me, my name is Chris Norman, I am 25 years old, and I am 1
third of Last Train Home (www.lasttrainhome.net
<http://www.lasttrainhome.net/>). We are an acoustic trio (guitar / vocals,
keyboard / vocals, and drums), and we play covers primarily, although we do do
a couple of songs that I have written.

I’m primarily a guitarist and singer. I don’t profess to be much good at either
of these, but it’s all about the enjoyment. In my role as guitarist and singer
for LTH, I am front man, and as such am required to make a lot of noise, to
cover up for the fact that we don’t have many instruments. My weapon of choice
in this regard is a TC Helicon Voice Live 2, which is the previous generation
of Voice Live products from TC Helicon. This wonderful piece of technical
wizardry provides me with not only my guitar effects, but 4 part harmony on
request, and all my vocal reverbs and delays and stuff. Despite it’s complex
nature, it’s actually a really accessible piece of kit.

I have a small studio at home, but again, it’s run with more enthusiasm than
skill. I use Pro Tools, with a smattering of logic here and there when I feel
like going back to the glory days of Garage Band: of presets and not having to
worry about busses and the minutiae of other stuff you have to worry about with
Pro Tools insistence of "professionalism".

In my free time it has to be said, I do more Python programming than music. My
particular interest is game design, although I made MetroClick, which is a
computer-based metronome, and I have half finished a piece of software designed
for sound design on the stage.

Anyways, it’s lovely to meet you all, and I hope I can help in some way.

Take care,

Chris Norman
