codex or the other program I have don’t work on the new kindle. I decided to
just go with the new kindle because I got tired of mucking around with trying
to convert. I got some free kindle books and Jaws now reads them fine. I’ve
concluded that jaws will either read them or it won’t.

In my case, I use codex to convert all of my Kindle books to epub. Then I
can read them using voice dream reader.

If the book isn’t in enhanced type setting, Jaws won’t read it. There are a few
of those it won’t read but in most cases, it will. With this particular book,
you might need something like codex so you can convert to epub.

I can’t speak to that book specifically, but there are definitely books where
your screen reader of choice will not work. And it reverts to that awful text
to speech. Ridiculous but true.

there a setting I’m missing?
