hi peter. always swipe left and right. if you swipe up or down you
will get one character at a time. i sometimes do that if i cannot make
out a word.
but, the rule is to swipe left and right.
i would also suggest that when you get into the setting area that you
lock the fire in portrait mode if no already so locked. reason is that
if you move the fire around it might go into landscape and swiping
gets reversed because now the fire is oriented differently.
practice and you will become a pro!
