Colleen,
As I mention in my blog post it is quite possible that installing the Play
Store could void your tablet's warranty if it's currently under a warranty. In
my opinion Amazon should not do this just because the Play Store was installed,
considering that the device can be reset and all remnants of the Play Store
would be erased upon doing this. In other words, while installing the Play
Store does change the tablet's software these changes should not be permanent
if a user finds them to be undesirable. However, I've never gotten a solid
answer to this question and Amazon's policies obviously win out over my
opinions.

Hi David
Don't worry about any writing choas...I am sure I got you bet there.
I think your right about the Samsung operating system. It is much better than
the older Samsungs.
So far I am not tempered to shed my feathers but heck I try it one day after
some serious backing up of files.
I am adding
an iPhone so that will be a change! Let's see if I can keep it all straight or
if i fall into dire straits!!!

Colleen,
I believe that Voice Assistant is Samsung's own screen reader. It is similar to
Talkback in many ways but it has a few unique gestures which were added from
Samsung.
It is possible to add the Google Play Store onto a Fire tablet with a minimal
amount of drama.

However, the writing style is a bit disorganized, which I am a bit embarrassed

Hi David
The older androids have Talkback under accessibility and the newer androids
have voice assistant also under accessibility. On Samsung androids it's under
settings. If you load the android accessibility services app things work better
on the newer androids. On the older androids it wont load.
The kindles have voice view under settings. Swipe down from top to get to
settings.
Both androids and kindle do have brailleback apps if you have refresh able
bluetooth braille display and perhaps six key imput. Brailleback now appears on
the apps on the newer kindles.
They are people on this list have put some play store apps on kindles but I
haven't. I am too chicken.
Sincerely yours

Hi, Melissa.
I don't know Android well enough to be able to explain the difference between
an accessibility app and an accessibility service but, on most Android devices,
the Talkback screen reader is considered a service and is found under the
Services section of Accessibility. With the Fire tablets Amazon doesn't group
VoiceView under services. In fact, when I attempted to load the Talkback screen
reader from the Play store I believe it was listed under services but it did
not speak when I attempted to load it. I have a feeling that Amazon isn't doing
much with the services category but if someone on this list has information
which can add to or correct my assumptions I'd appreciate being informed.
