Hi all,
I thought I saw a post on this list that said that you could not download books
to the micro sd card, unless you first had the app on the card. So, this is why
I didn't try to download books directly to the card.

Maybe you could try deleting the app from your fire and then making
sure you have gone to settings and selected the option to have all
books and apps downloaded to an sd card then re-download the bard or
nls app. Maybe that would work.
