Thanks so much for the info and I now have Alexa working fine.
Now do you have a tip for getting OK Google to work? It has been trained and
says it is on for all screens but when I say OK Google, nothing happens.
also is it possible to make the Google keyboard the default?

but, a couple quick hints.
1. you don't need an echo for alexa and the fire to work. all is
explained in the link above. 2. to open a link for options (like a
right mouse click) do a double tap and hold then when it opens swipe
for options.
