Hi Rhonda,

Has Alexa worked on your tablet at all? I had to re-download the Alexa app for some reason, because my Fire no longer had it, and once I did that and made sure she was selected to use my Tablet, I was able to close the4 app and everything is working fine again. I can even get my Amazon music, which had stopped working.

After she was reinstalled, the two-finger double-tap and hold for a couple of seconds is now working like magic.

William, I am determined to get Alexa to work. I tried single tapping, just in
case that worked -- obviously not.

My sons gave me Echo Dot and smart switches&lightbulbs for Christmas. I made my
son Alex take the smart plugs and bulbs, because I have no use for
voice-controlling lights. Since I often bought the boys toys that I would like to
play with, I most likely deserved them buying something they wanted for themselves!
I haven't determined yet if the Echo Dot is worth the hassle, since I'm never going
to purchase Kindle or Audio books as long as there is BARD and Bookshare, which you
can't put on the Echo. It doesn't seem worthwhile for me to learn how to get  or
read Kindle books.

Hi Rhonda. I guess the list is working!

1. To get Alexa to work it is a DOUBLE tap and HOLD on the home
screen! Not a single tap.

2. What kind of video are you talking about? From Amazon? Other?
However, if you look in quick settings/settings/storage you might find
it to delete. If you do find the video, tap on options for the delete
selection.

3. As for the Echo, don't own one. Sorry, can't help in that
department. Other folks on this list can help I bet. Talk it up!

Stay well ... William

William,

This is silly, but to date, I cannot get Alexa to work on my Fire #8.
However, I just received the keyboard adaptor from Amazon, so perhaps I will
be able to more closely check settings, or the Alexa icon to see if I have
missed something obvious, which I most likely have. The two finger tap/hold
is not working for me, either as single or double tap gesture.

Apologies that everyone whines to you when something doesn't work with the
Amazon devices! I hope you are comfortable with guru status!

I have to see if I can delete a video which I accidentally downloaded rather
than simply play. These events should no longer occur when using a keyboard.
Additionally, I'm having trouble keeping an Echo Dot connected, so Amazon
hasn't heard the last from me!

Thanks!

Regards,
Rhonda Staats
