Hi. This is using my laptop without voice dictation. Here, I can say
they aren't "your" phones, but, "ear" phones! LOL!
Probably should change the name of this Fire tablet as well.

Hi listers. Last night, I got ahold of my wife's Fire 7 inch 7th Generation
tablet to check for updates. This is the tablet that came out with
Hands-Free Alexa.
This tablet had not been turned on since June, 2018. My wife, after
graduating with a Masters in Special Education in January of that year
decided to take a mission opportunity at a Boy's home in Jamaica teaching
math and English. She took that tablet with her, however, the wifi was
spotty and the tablet was used very little. Coming home, it just sat.
Anyway, when I fired up the tablet, it went through 5 major updates.
At the end of this process, I learned about Voice Dictation and a ton of new
gestures!
Voice Dictation with the default email app? The poop: When you either reply
or create a new message, the subject and message boxes can be voiced. As you
swipe down past the focused text box, you will hear to do a two finger
double tap and hold on the glass. After hearing a chime, start talking,
still holding on the glass with your two fingers.
When done, just release and you will hear your spoken words created in the
edit box. Hint: finish a sentence by saying period or exclaim/question mark.
The dictation was perfect!
So, for the new Voice Dictation, no longer an icon on the keyboard.
It's just a gesture!
