Hi William,
If I understood your question correctly, you wanted to know how I used the
camera on the iPhone and perhaps why?
Well, I never use the camera to attempt to pictures or make videos. I use it
either to read print text or to identify objects. I primarily use apps such as
FaceTime, Skype and WhatsApp to get visual assistance from close friends when I
am alone at home. I also use apps designed specifically to help blind people
such as TapTapSee, Be My Eyes and Bespecular. I use all of these apps on my
iPhone and was wondering how many of them can actually be used on the Kindle
Fire.
If I misunderstood your question, then I am very sorry for an explanation that
doesn’t fit the question.
Best,
Mike

Hi Michael. If you are looking for VOIC, then Facebook Messenger is
stellar. There is both a audio only option along with video. Of
course, your contact list only includes those friended on Facebook.
The Messenger app can be installed solo. You don't need to install the
Facebook app as well on your device.
There is BeMyEyes for both Android and IOS. I installed it on the
Fire, but, it requires a real phone call. The Fire cannot do that. At
least not yet.
Just wondering: As for using the iphone, what is your current method
as you allude in your response below.
Stay well ... William

Hi, William,
My primary reasons for wanting this information is not to make video
recordings but, rather, to garner sighted assistance when I am alone and
could use a pair of eyes. I almost always use my iPhone for these
situations, but I’d like to give the Fire a test drive.
Cheers,
Mike
