Hi Ian
I would like to write to Amazon about this matter, but where would I send an
email without it being ignored. Is there a named person responsible for
accessibility for the UK?
best wishes
Henry

I spoke to a very nice Irish gentleman on the Amazon helpdesk yesterday and ask
when we were going to be able to access Kindle eBooks on the Echo Dot and also
to be able to use Alexa on the 7 inch Fire Tablet.
He put me on hold and went off to find out.
Unfortunately all he could find out was that neither was available in the UK at
the moment, but he said he would register my requests to see if it would speed
things up.
Maybe if enough people in the UK got in touch with Amazon we might be able to
chivvy them along a bit.
Amazon do seem to be trying to help with accessibility, as I believe there has
been an announcement about improvements to the Fire TV and Fire Stick Voice
View access.
Anyway, we can but hope.
Kind regards. Ian.

I thought this was a trait of most amazon support techs to be honest haha. I
always find I'm taching them something whenever I ring up. I just wish they
would hurry up and Get alexa over here on our kindle devices and allow us to
read kindle books too. Why should it make a difference if we're in the UK? I
did hear somewhere that the reason we were so far behind you guys in getting
Alexa in the first place was because they had to make sure it worked with so
many different accents.
While it's true that over her in good ol' Blitie we do have way more accents
than in the US and over a smaller amount of space, I really didn't think it
would be that big a deal.

As we all know the definitive answer from Amazon Accessibility mentioned in the
first message in this thread was completely untrue.
The 7 inch Kidle Fire tablet was made to access all content from Amazon be it
Kindle books, Audible.com books, Amazon video, etc.
Whoever that Amazon person was they did a disservice to an Amazon customer by
spreading their ignorance. If they're going to be answering questions from
customers they should know some facts instead of making them up as they go.

Yes, that's what I thought oo. I don't really understand how that

The definitive answer from Amazon Accessibility is that if you want
Alexa to read your Kindle books, you need one of the Echo devices or
