I just had a eureka moment. But first, a funny. The Amazon
Accessibility man is called Rus, that's with only one s. He has Echo
devices all over the house. But until today, he hadn't really messed
with Alexa on the Fire and didn't know you wake Alexa with the Home
button. So I got to tell him that.
Just for the heck of it, from the home screen, I double-tapped and held
the home button and said, "Open Alexa." And the app opened. He didn't
know it would do that. Just now, I did the same thing. I then said,
"Open Kindle Books", and Alexa began reading from the last book I had
been listening to with VoiceView. So I have at last done what you were
saying all along.
