(VICT) Up-curbs

When I trained Alex we did upcurbs as a bit of a pause and then go. I am  
thinking about teaching it this time with a paws on the curb and  stop 
indicate..any opinions one over the other? I feel a little less safe  with the 
paws on 
the upcurb as far as traffic and clearing the street but the  indication is a 
lot more solid and readable leaving me fewer curb scrambles if I  get 
distracted.. What do you think?
