Bryan Park, Richmond VA
Comments: Light mist in the beginning with periods of rain. Later, rain
ended but cloud cover still 100%. Eight birders.

Canada Goose 2
Mallard 1 Female appeared to be sitting on a nest.
Great Blue Heron 2 One seen in the lower pond and one observed in the upper
pond.
Red-shouldered Hawk 1 Adult bird on the ground with dead Red-winged
Blackbird underneath it. It flew away with two Red-winged Blackbirds
following it. Unusual call heard from one Blackbird.
Red-tailed Hawk 1 Female on nest with at least one young in pine.
Mourning Dove 3
Chimney Swift 2
Belted Kingfisher X
Red-bellied Woodpecker 2
Downy Woodpecker 5
Northern Flicker 3
Pileated Woodpecker 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee 2
Great Crested Flycatcher 3

Purple Martin 9 Two birds flying over the upper pond and seven at the
Purple Martin house.
Barn Swallow 8 Two adults and two young perched on overhead wire near a
bridge. The other 4 were flying over the fifth soccer field near the meadow.
