I just saw two pine siskin on my hanging platform feeder this morning. I’m in
central Henrico. Firsts this year. My feeders have been slow since mid-summer,
too. Looked like they were eating the safflower out of a black oil/safflower
mix.

I had around 15 house finches the other day and about 20 goldfinches today
which I carefully checked to make sure I didn’t have purples or siskins. No
luck! But have a few red-breasted nuthatches and my first returning fox sparrow
showed up today. Still keeping my fingers crossed!
