Hi all, Doug Hensel at Great Big Greenhouse has asked if we would like to participate in their annual Kids Day in the Garden on Saturday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We've enjoyed being at this event in the past and in Doug's words, he would love to have us back. This is the very popular peanut butter and pinecone bird feeder craft. It's gooey and messy and fun, needs a little set-up beforehand and takedown after the event. Ideally, we would need 3 or 4 people for each two-hour shift--or you can stay for the four hours, which go by quickly. GBG supplies the bird seed and pinecones and we bring peanut butter and cookie sheets, plus string, scissors, and plastic bags so that children can take the feeders home to hang. Ricardo's delicious pizza and soft drinks are provided for lunch. This event puts our name out there and is a good way to promote our cause through flyers, bird photos, and whatever other material we'd like to display. Please let me know by December 15 if you--or someone you know--are able to help out for this fun event. Great BIg Greenhouse has done a lot for us over the years. Thank you! Joyce Caldwell
