I birded Henricus/Dutch Gap Conservation Area between 8:30 and 10:30 am this morning. Highlights were a nice pair of Common Mergansers, 7 Wilson's Snipe, Osprey and Tree Swallows. The mergansers were a short distance down the Conservation Trail from the Visitor Center, a little way out from the drainage culvert opposite the enormous house on the far bank. The snipe were feeding on a mudflat visible from the observation blind just past the 0.5 mile mark.
