My last White-throated Sparrow was seen at my feeder on May 1. Virginia's
Birdlife: An Annotated Checklist (Fourth Edition), the "Yellow Book"
published in 2007, lists them in the Piedmont as being here through May 20.
What is the spring date this year or previous recent spring dates that you
have seen the last White-throated Sparrows in the Richmond Metro Area? If
your departure dates for the North are much earlier than May 20, I would
think this is another sign of global warming?
