I have a House Finch nest in the wreath hanging on my front porch. They frighten me as I frighten them when I leave through the front door. Well, this past weekend I peeked in the nest and low and behold,,,, FIVE eggs! So now I transgress through the garage so as not to "frighten" them anymore!! Oh how we moved to accommodate mother nature!! In the foreground the Yellow-rumped Warblers picked at the peanut butter suet on the deck railing, seeming to become more brightly feathered every day! The nesting chickadees and bluebirds are ravenous - raising a family is a high-energy task!! The woodpeckers tap and excavate, the redbuds burst forth and the dogwoods are so ready to bloom. And this gentle rain is a blessing. Springtime in Virginia is quite a sight and sound!! Caroline Coe Chesterfield County You are subscribed to VA-Richmond-General.
