They are sharp--seem to always be on the lookout for an opportunity. I've had
them nest in all sorts of surprising places...empty paint can, riding helmet,
book shelf in the garage, cinder block hole. Great parents, too...they stick
right with those kids when they come off the nest, making sure they're ok.
Never ceases to amaze. Makes me wish I had a newspaper box...

On 3 separate occasions in the past couple of weeks we've found Carolina Wrens
on nests in unused newspaper boxes!!! Many of us now have online newspapers,
and the folks still receiving at home delivery have bagged papers in their
driveways!!These unused plastic tubes are water proof, have ventilation from
the bottom and ARE EMPTY! Just perfect for a nest!
We found a wren with eggs on a nest west of Charlottesville, outside Hopewell
and near Midlothian!
Nice recycling wrens!
