The laws are not very protective of birds or small mammals. There is no leash
laws for cats as with dogs. This is not natural, because, while there are only
around 1 million bobcats in the county but there are 70 million cats. Our
ecosystem could not support this many predators in a balanced food chain.
Outdoor and Feral Cats are the leading cause of individual deaths among birds.

That's a common concern. We have a dedicated group on the RAS Board, however,
who are working on an education campaign about keeping cats inside. Look for
some good materials and resources on that in the coming months!

No it is not as nature designed it. Cats are not native here. What do we do
about neighbors like this one?
