For the rest of you...We have huge windows in a yard with very old trees.
We've been in this house 10+years, and have noticed 1-2 strikes over the
years (evidence on the windows or dead birds in the yard). However,
working from home has demonstrated that the few we'd noticed in prior years
might not have been accurate. For example, one day last November there
were 6 (SIX!!) strikes in one morning. It was a terrible morning for me; I
hate to think about the birds.
So I started doing some research and came up with CollidEscape.com, and

that don't have outside screens and they sent a package back with all the
pieces. It is sort of easy to install (but you need 2 people for larger
pieces) and a non-windy day.
We covered 6 large windows for about $350 with shipping.
No bird strikes since we put it up! However, a few things to know. It's
like looking through a dark screen door, and it lets less light into the
house (which will be great in the summer, as it's supposed to keep the

I'm quite proud of the diversity (15-20) of birds in my yard in Del Ray, so
I think it's worth the screen-door look to protect them.
