Having just moved to Winchester, I do not know the abundance of Common
Nighthawk in this area but nonetheless can report one of these birds swooping
about and calling around 8:40 pm above the buildings of Orchard Ridge
retirement facility west of Winchester, Frederick County, most recently last
night, June 8th. Stauffer Miller
