All,
I just got a call from Jay Keller who reports a Brown-headed Nuthatch at
Occoquan Regional Park (NOT the wildlife refuge) which is on Rt. 123
heading south just before the Occoquan Bridge if I'm not mistaken. He
said the gate to the park is closed so you have to park and walk in but
the bird is easily seen just past the power line cut near a 25 mph speed
limit sign. It would be really good if someone could get a photo of
this bird for the records committee. Needless to say, there are no
records of this species in the Northern Virginia area.
Happy New Year everyone!
