Howdy folks,
I was able to relocate the Brown-headed Nuthatch in Occoquan Regional
Park around 3:20 today. It was a bit further down the down the road
where there are pines on both sides. There is a brick thing on the
right side of the road that redirects the water flow very near where I
saw the bird. I first heard it's squeaky call and then was able to draw
it in with pishing and a bit of brown-headed nuthatch tape. Renee Grebe
showed up a bit later and I was able to show her the bird. I left
around 4:00 with Paula and Jack Sullivan looking for the bird, Paula
with her ever ready camera in hand. Hopefully she'll be able to
photograph it.
