I pulled into our townhome community this morning (roughly near Franconia
Rd. & Telegraph Rd.), coming home after my morning workout, and there,
sitting in the tree above the tot lot was an adult BALD EAGLE.
This is only our 2nd ever "yard bird" bald eagle - the first one we had
was back on 12/11/01 - which was the very reason I joined this birding
list! So, I consider this an anniversary of sorts. :)
The last time we spotted a local bald eagle, it was BC (before [digital]
camera). This time, however, I had time to grab the scope and camera:
