A leisurely stroll along the waterfront trails at York River State Park on
Sunday morning (9:30-11:00) yielded the following observations (neatest
birds, for me, listed first). The cold and wind had the woods mostly quiet
for most of the morning, but a pleasant walk nonetheless. I visited Jolly
Pond around 8:00am, but saw nothing but Yellow-throated warblers and Osprey.

Blue-gray gnatcatcher - 1
Yellow-throated warblers - 5 (singing)
Yellow-bellied sapsucker - 1 (drilling a row of holes)
Pileated woodpecker - 1
Red-bellied woodpecker - 2
Northern flicker - 1
Brown creeper - 1
Ruby-crowned kinglet - 1
Pine warblers - 3 (singing)
Chipping sparrows - 3 (singing)
Yellow-rumped warblers - 4
Eastern towhee - 1
Osprey - 6
Eastern bluebird - 2 (one singing)
Kingfisher - 1
White-breasted nuthatch - 2
Juncos - 8
Black vulture - 1
Turkey vulture - 3
Tufted titmice - 3
Carolina chickadees - 2
White-throated sparrows - 11 (one singing)
Robin - 1 (singing)
Cardinals - 2
Blue jay - 1
Fish crows - 4
American crows - 6
Cowbird - 1
Starling - 4
