John and I were back at James River State Park (Buckingham County) on
June 12 to look for breeding evidence (nest building, feeding young,
etc.) for the Willow Flycatchers first reported on June 7. Fenton Day
(who had been to see the birds on June 10) mentioned the possibility of
another singing male. On June 12 we found two singing males (about 200
yards apart down along the edge of the wetlands) and a third bird
(probably a female) flitting around a willow as the male sang from the
upper branches.
