For the past month we have had a very unusual white-throated sparrow foraging
under our feeders with a sizable flock of other white-throated sparrows. It is
identical in size, shape, behavior, pattern and color EXCEPT that it is a very
light sandy color from head to toe. It’s overall appearance contrasts markedly
with all of the other sparrows. There is no sign of any albinism. I do have
some pictures that show the contrast in color. Does anyone have any thoughts
about this bird?
