Hello VAbirders,
The best birding today was early in the morning, when
I found many migrants on the entrance road to the
park, before the contact station.

Red-headed Woodpeckers were common and conspicious in
the Walnut Grove, as always.

I've had the opportunity to bird Sky Meadows twice in recent weeks and
wanted to echo Scott's observation. The birding was super in that area,
with many birds in the vicinity of the little creek that runs through about
half way between the contact station and the Walnut Grove. I've birded
other parts of the park in the past and while it's always pleasant, I never
had such good birding as I did near the entrance. Great fun!
