While checking known spots around here where we've had Dickcissels before,
we found a single LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE. The bird was along McCann Rd, just NE
of Winchester at about Noon. As for Dickcissels, we've been quite
disappointed this year. Although they have been predictable in at least 4
spots in Frederick Co. before, and we've checked a number of times, none
have returned. Even though this doesn't surprise us, it is still
disheartening. However, a Shrike is always a treat! And BJ was especially
proud that SHE found it!
