Hi,
I have never seen bluebirds or any other birds lay themselves out on a
hot deck in the middle of the day ... the male and the female did it.
Female did it twice .... Are they begging for food? It is pretty hot
(pics taken about an hour ago i.e at midday).
What are they doing? Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Female: http://andresenrealty.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=1580

It is really quite funny to watch them get into these positions .. they
kind of preen themselves, then sort of list towards one side and keep
tilting like a sinking ship, move a wing out of the way maybe and then
tip over ... in some cases, the female seemed to be making eye contact
with me, which is why I think she might be begging (yes, she might be
associating me with meal worms .. I feed her .. she is on eggs)
Checkout my documentation of their stay in my backyard at:

Thanks,
Liezel
