Thirteen birders gathered for a delightful, warm day at Merrimac Farm in
Nokesville for the Prince William Conservation Alliance
Last-Sunday-of-the-Month birdwalk. We tallied 39 species with many First of
Season arrivals. Our highlights included a large showing of Prairie Warblers,
a perennial favorite at Merrimac; the encouraging call of Ovenbirds; the usual
large numbers of White-eyed Vireos found at Merrimac; and a very large flyover
of migrating Blue Jays.
