I drove out to Lake Frederick to see the male Long-tailed Duck. It was
there, right off the fishing pier, as advertised. Sadly, most of the other
goodies reported had departed, or were not visible. My list was limited to
Ring-necked and Ruddy Ducks, a Scaup and a single Common Loon.
Driving home I stopped in Marshall. Good news - Belvoir Pond is now full
again. Highlight was a single Tundra Swan. Also present were Ruddys,
Ring-necks, a Bufflehead and two Coots, along with the local goose flock.
I had a single female Purple Finch at Blandy Farm, nothing else noteworthy.
