This morning I birded James River Park between Reedy Creek and 42 st. from
7:00am - 8:20am.
Highlight was a single LINCOLN'S SPARROW. Seen briefly near the storm drain
(about half way between Reedy Creek and 42 st) I was able to note the
following characteristic field marks; a light buff ground color on flanks
and upper breast with fine dark streaks. The bill was noticeably narrower
and more "pointy" than nearby Song and White-Throated Sparrows. The crown
had a paler thin median stripe, but was otherwise brown with fine dark
streaks.
Also seen was a single COMMON LOON flying up river (west). Species list

Double-crested Cormorant - 2
Great Blue Heron - 5
