Paul Glass, Clyde Wilson and I participated in the annual Kerr Lake Spring Bird
Count today. As per usual, our count area was Dick Cross WMA. Overall, it was
a pretty dull day for migrants but one in particular did stand out. At the
hidden marsh way in the back behind the Clyde's Pond marsh was a LEAST BITTERN.
The bird never showed itself but called intermittently for at least 15
minutes. Audio recordings were attempted but it's unsure whether or not these
turned out. Definitely a nice bird and a county bird to boot. The full list
of what was seen today can be found at the ebird link below. Good birding.
