Howdy all,
It was a bit of a surprise to band 44 birds today after only getting 34
yesterday, on what I thought would have been a good day. I am not going to
complain
however! The day started off with our first CANADA WARBLER of the season. And
then was followed by our seconded PROTHONOTARY WARBLER of the fall. We ended
up the day with 16 species of birds banded.
Here are the totals for the day 8/26:
A. Redstart 9
Prairie Warbler 2
Canada Warbler 1
C. Yellowthroat 2
Prothonotary Warbler 1
Ovenbird 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Least Flycatcher 1
Traill's Flycatcher 4 one looked good for an Alder
Eastern Kingbird 2
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Field Sparrow 10
Grasshopper Sparrow 1
Indigo Bunting 1
Carolina Wren 2
Veery 3
TOTAL -------------------- 44
It was a nice mix of birds today. Sure hope it stays like this for a while.
The weather was beautiful today!!!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
