Hello birders,

I have not been out today, but several other birders have continued to look
for the Ripley Garden Rufous with no success.  If anyone saw her AFTER 5:45
p.m. on Jan. 30, please let me know; otherwise, that will probably be the
last sighting date.  It's going to seem empty without our hum around!

Paula Sullivan kindly sent me information about the 3-leg-band Mockingbird
which can often be seen in the Ripley Garden.  For those of us who don't
know (that included me), it is part of an SI-sponsored project called
Neighborhood Nestwatch, which encourages individuals to follow the progress
of nesting birds in their own yards.  To learn more about this worthy
project, visit the website:  http://sio.si.edu/Nestwatch/

Thanks, Paula!
