Weather:
Sunny with temp starting at 39F and going to mid 40s. No cloud cover and
the far ridges of the western valley were slightly hazy. Winds steady
between 2-3 mph from the west throughout the watch.
Raptor Observations:
First bird shortly after 11:00 was a Cooper's hawk low in the valley which
I only spotted because a raven and the hawk were apparently having an
airspace disagreement. A pair of red tails came through around noon and
the last bird, another red tail at 1:15.
Non-raptor Observations:
Usual TV and raven activity. A large buck walked through the woods just
across the road from the overlook, apparently spooked by some day hikers on
the AT that had just arrived in the parking lot. Light traffic on the
Parkway with few cars coming through the overlook.
